Hi all:
I received my DVD screener copy of Lord Of The Rings in January for New Line Home Entertainment. It is in a case made special for the oscar voters and it is titled, "For Your Consideration."
I gotta say, the most improved and more easily seen visual in the whole film HAS to be how much more the eyes are able to pick up during the beginning battle between Armys of Mordor, and the Alliance.
YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE HOW HARD THE KING IS HIT BY SAURON and HOW HARD HE HITS THE ROCK before Isildur is at his side. It is a much louder, focused hit and the sound is VERY sharp on a Bose dolby digital surround sound field. (not sure how it will be on other systems).
I got the case autographed by Sir Ian McKellen this Sunday at the Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco, and Mr. McKellen signed my X-men DVD first, then when I handed him the Fellowship Oscar DVD, he looked up and said, "Well, did you vote for us?" Boy I wish I had the vote to go along with the DVD copy here!
Does anyone else own the legal copy I own, produced by New Line Cinema studios? Just wondering if any other oscar voters/ hollywood insiders have kept theirs or sold them.
The only celebrity I know of that has one is Clerks director, Kevin Smith, and he watches his very often. :1roll:
