I owe every piece of stupid information I own to my selectively demented brain, which can memorize entire movies but won't let me remember people whom I've just met two minutes ago.
Ah, so your brain is a toxic waste-dump of pop culture too, eh?

The other night I saw something on vampire bats which included the inevitable "funny" movie clip, and then said to my husband, "I recognize that clip." (It was from The House That Dripped Blood).

"Of course you do," he said, with a gentle smile.

Hey, I forgot the Sadat bit! Garret did the "Island of Lost Luggage" too. I had a precious audio recording of the show until my tape player chewed it up a couple of years ago. Nope, I guess I don't remember everything! ;)
I love how Lorraine Newman started laughing when she turned around and saw Mr. Lee in his "Death" costume. :D
Didn't Richard Belzar also do an interpretation of Bob Dylan as a little old Jewish man, complete with accent?

I really enjoyed the trip back in time watching SNL.

Thanks everyone for posting what they had cut out, I was trying to remember what they had cut out. Now I remember......LOL

I like Mr. Lee with his mustache. I think with it he looks so much like his father.

Yes, Old Soul, he does look like his father! I have a theory that his wonderful stage presence and intimidating "villian" persona is partially modelled after his strict military dad (consciously or unconsciously), whilst his love of the arts and music comes from his mother's side of the family.

Kay:

Thanks yet again for reminding us of the Sadat skit, which they did cut out. Too bad.

My best friend is from Philly too-- both you guys have incredible recall. (Must be something in those cheese steak hoagies.)

Yes, that was the end of his routine; his thought was that Bob Dylan would continue to perform no matter how old he got, and he launched into an impression of Dylan at 86 years old in concert:

"Oy. . . .Once upon a time, ya done so fine, ya threw da bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? (hack, cough). . . .now you're not Mr. Big Shot, eh? Maybe ya don't feel so proud about having to be scrounging your next mealllllllll. . . .oy. . . .how does it feel? Like a rollin' gallstone."

Thank you; toss your quarters and quid into the hat. . . .

Come to think of it, Mr. Lee could probably do a decent rendition of "Like a Rolling Stone."

The thought of Christopher Lee hosting SNL back in the 70's sound too funny for me.
