Tender Dracula

Hi, everyone...

...I've got a chance to pick up a sealed, factory-fresh copy of "Tender Dracula," Peter Cushing's once and only performance as The Count, but the price is starting to get somewhat...well, pricey. Before I let it get any higher, I thought I'd ask for a review. Anybody seen this film?

I'd appreciate the help! :)

Actually, Cushing doesn't play Dracula in this film. He plays a horror actor named MacGregor who's seen better days. The role is sort of similar to that played by Vincent Price in Madhouse. With the exception that this is a comedy and MacGregor may or may not be (or maybe just thinks he is) a vampire. Cushing does appear in Lugosi-garb at one point, though. Basically, I'd say this is more of a sex-comedy than anything else.

My advice: If you want to complete your Cushing collection, go for it. If not, pass.

Thanks, gentlemen...the price was at $61 the last time I checked. Just a _tad_ high!

Interesting about the plot...I was always under the impression he actually played Dracula in this film; at least, that's what I'd read. Appreciate the info!

I picked up a awful NTSC video of this (unofficial video release that is) - the picture quality makes it unwatchable. Of what I saw I was not very impressed.....
