This is great news! As many people know, I'm a huge fan of the Hammer Frankenstein series (much more than the Dracula series, I'm afraid. Heresy, I know.) Who's putting it out? Please say it's Anchor Bay.

Indeed. I did some surfing and learned that Columbia is also putting out a DVD of Return of the Vampire with Bela Lugosi as a WW II-era vampire (who dresses in full Dracula garb) and has a werewolf sidekick (who looks like a killer yorkshire terrier.)
On a brighter note, the same source said Christopher Lee's Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace is up for DVD release soon.

A concept not found in folklore.

Alfonso , I totally agree with you . As good as the Dracula series was , the Frankenstein films were far superior . Unlike Dracula Hammer concentrated on the character rather than the monster which made for much classier films . Don't get me wrong I love the Dracula series it's just that Frankie wins by a neck..( unbolted )
I can't wait for The Revenge Of Frankenstein , let's hope it's the first of many .

This is going to be a great Summer if both Curse of Frankenstein and Revenge of Frankenstein is released on DVD. However. . . my year would be made if someone announced a DVD release of Frankenstein must be Destroyed.

Reference Return of the Vampire, its one of Belas best turns as a vampire, and a lot more fun then his original turn as Dracula. Though he does not play Dracula in this film, its clearly the same character, they just had to change the name as they did not have the rights to call him "Dracula" But good news about the DVD I'll be watching for it!
