Granted that any scene in which CL appears is swoon-worthy, especially those in which he speaks, there are still some scenes which go above and beyond the call of duty. One of my favorites is from Dracula Has Risen From the Grave - where Dracula visits Maria in her bedroom and gives her a little kiss before he bites her.

What scenes really get you going? Do tell!

I'll tell you honestly -- just about anytime CL enters a scene is fair game for me.

Seriously, the voice just does it for me, no matter what he does, but I do have to say that the Scaramanga character had a certain evil charm and was rather mesmerizing. Also, (you're gonna think I'm crazy) I enjoyed CL's role in Airport '77 because he wasn't the bad guy but rather a nice, soft-spoken gentleman. That gets me every time!

The first scene with Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man. . . . You know, the one outside the inn. . . from the 102 minute version. . . .

I love this thread! It would be so hard to choose a scene. I would have to say the one in Dracula AD 1972 when he walks up to that Caroline Monroe (if I were her, I would have intentionally flubbed this scene over and over just to get him to do this again!) and he slides his fingers up her arm and up her shoulder and then holds her face in his hand. I think I replayed that about a million times! WHEW!

The kissies before the bite in some of those scenes, or really little feather "almost" kisses were pretty damned good, too! WOW!

Cara

mllprncss - It's been so long since I've seen either TMWGG or Airport '77, but I do remember being charmed by both performances. I really need to see those movies again.

Josslyn - I'm not sure which Wicker Man scene you mean. I thought the first scene was when he came out of his chair while Howie was watching the naked dancing girls.

Cara - Yes, that scene from Dracula AD 1972 is definitely a good one.

Here's some more:

Dracula Prince of Darkness - he finally has Diana alone in the office at the monastery. He opens his shirt and cuts himself, then pulls Diana towards him. No, I'm not into the blood at all. It's the look on his face. Such desire! Wow!

I, Monster (I hope I remember this correctly) - he has girly pictures in his drawer or filing cabinet. One of his patients discovers them and then confronts him with "Can you resist the body of a woman?" or something to that effect. I love the whole repressed desire thing.

Hello there.
In the long cut of the Wicker Man the first scene with Summerisle is outside the hotel. He recites Walt Whitman whilst wearing a kilt. This is Ash Buchanan's "initiation" scene with Willow (Britt Ekland) that Howie partialy witnesses. There were two other cuts of the film in which this scene didn't make it. It is, however, one of my favorites.
Have you seen the Mario Bava film The Whip & The Body?

This is interesting,

I know I first started paying attention to Christopher Lee when I first saw him in the Hound of the Baskervills. So tall dark and handsome

Hi Josslyn,

Oh right, the sacrifice for Aphrodite. Very nice. He's in particularly good voice there, I think.

No, I can't say I've seen The Whip & The Body. I'd like to. Is it good?

Old Soul,

Oh, I like The Hound of the Baskervilles too. I seem to remember there being a Scene in that one too, but it's been so long since I've seen it. I must see it again.

I'm afraid I don't know much about the kissing habits of Englishmen. I've never had the pleasure (that I recall). Nor have I ever dated a tall, dark, handsome man with a gorgeous deep voice. The voice seems to be the hardest thing to find.

The Whip & The Body is a Mario Bava Italian gothic film. It is out on DVD. I think it is now in the $15 and under bin at Suncoast.
Basically, the movie is about Kurt (Mr. Lee) who returns home to the family estate after an extended abscence. He's the black sheep of the family and isn't well liked by anyone. His brother has married his old girlfriend with whom he (Kurt) had a sado-masochistic relationship. If I tell you any more I may give away the plot.
The nice thing about the DVD is that is includes the entire movie. There were some scenes deemed too disturbing to include in the US theatrical release (under the idiotic title of What!). They seem pretty tame now. The bad thing is that all of the actors are dubbed including Mr. Lee. I think he had one undubbed line. The dubbing wasn't done poorly but I can't stand dubbing anyway. I would rather have subtitles.
Basically you lose the voice but get some rather disturbing love scenes (if they can be called such). . . all of which involve a riding crop.

Yep, that was one of those goosebump, heart racing, blood boiling scenes.
I must admit that I always was a real sucker for any of CL's kiss or bite scenes.
I would offer my throat to him any time :D

I couldn't sit by, reading this, and just nod knowingly between giggles anymore. . . .

Every time I go to the theatre and Mr. Lee's character first appears onscreen, haven't you noticed that the temperature in the place goes up to about 100? If somebody could bottle and sell what makes it happen, the retail industry would recover and we'd never have to work again.

Besides the obvious scenes, I enjoyed the scene with Lee Grant in Airport '77 when he talked to her for the last time and kissed her as if knowing it would be the final goodbye. Whew. . . .excuse me while I go get something cold to drink.

Kay I think your right. It must be all that heavy breathing that went on in the movies when Mr. Lee is on the screen
