I would love to see some EU dealing with Dooku, why he leaves the order and such. That would rock.

I've read one or two of the E. U., "Champions of the Force" is a cracker, the struggles of a newly reborn Jedi order and the continuing threat of a defeated but still aggressive Empire.
I also really liked the "Infinities" comic series, a "What if?" version of "Starwars A New Hope", which deals with what might happen should Luke fail to blow the Death Star up...

As a matter of fact, has anyone read any of the brilliant Fan Fiction on some of the Starwars sites? The Force Net is a good place to start, it's got a huge catalogue of fan written stories, from all the periods of the films, from comedy to tragedy. Go and have a look, I recommend one called "About Turn" in which Darth Vader has a huge identity crisis...

if you haven't read any of it yet, I highly suggest you do.

books you don't want to waste your time with:

Children of Jedi
Planet of Twilight
Crystal Star

I thin those are the only ones i've actually not liked. Oh forgot
Black Fleet Crisis
put me to sleep
