I have just checked the tv listings for christmas (Brittish) and I see Channel 4 are showing a documentary called "Burnt Offerings, the cult of the Wickerman" on December 29th, 12.20am.

Then on new years eve, same channel, 11.40pm they are screening 'The Wickerman' I don't know what version it is but the running time is 115 minutes.

Cheers
Colin

I just got an e-mail from the Blackstar mailing list.

The Wicker Man will be released on dvd in the UK/Europe
and there will be 2 different versions. :D
A normal (special edition) version.
http://www.blackstar.co.uk/video/item/7000000067704
And a special boxset.

Unfortunately it doesn't say which extra's will be on the disc.
Running time as mentioned on the site from Blackstar is 84 min.

Hopefully this will be not the case and instead it will feature the 99 min US print which was released not too long ago by Anchor Bay.

That's great news Jacob, I am going tp pre-order my copy tonight.

Greg, I have seen it several times, but only on TV, so it was probably cut, I missed the chance earlier this year to see it on the big screen at Tyneside Theatre. I can't wait to get the DVD with the extras, and I have just found out what 'commentry' is all about, I have just finished watching a DVD when for the first time I saw with commentry option and was amazed to see the whole film was played again with the stars talking you through the film, amazing, I'm learning more every day. So to hear commentry on The Wicker Man will be a blast.

The running time in the TV listings is 115 minutes, so I guess they include adverts, so will drastically reduce the running time.

Cheers
