RealPlayer cannot play this type of document.
An attempt was made to access a file that cannot be decoded by the RealPlayer. RealPlayer G2 can natively decode RealAudio and RealVideo files. Other media types such as .wav, .au, .mov, .mid, .viv, and .mpg (MPEG 1) can also be decoded if the appropriate plugins and codecs(compression/decompression systems) are installed.
==============================================

Please,
Can anybody tell me what this means. I get this when I try to listen to the Greece audio using Real Player, I can listen to all the rest , only this one is giving me problems.
Thanks.
Colin.

Juan Aneiros is on a distinguished road
Colin,

You missed the most impartant part, what file were you trying to play?

If it was a .rm file, just reinstall Real Player and that would fix it.

Juan,
Sorry for the delay in this response. I did reinstall realplayer and it worked fine thanks.
But, I am having fun:furious: with the high quality video of Mr. Lee and the CBE. The first time I tried to download it it said estimated time left to download 2hours 15 mins, so I thought hmm never mind, I occupied my time with a game of virtual snooker. 1 hour and 30 mins later I got a 'time out' message and lost everything. So been the trooper I am and wanting to win at snooker I downloaded again, this time it said estimated time left to download 59 mins, which I did not understand but proceeded anyway.
7 minutes from the end I was disconnected from the internet by BT:furious: :furious: .I lost everything again. So been a true Brit..... I thumped the computer. Later, typing with my thumb I downloaded again, All went smoothly for a while, 1 hour and several minutes later download complete:) the download box dissapears from the screen and I haven't seen it since.:furious: :furious: :furious:
So after a visit to the hospital to rearange the bones in both my hands I came home and typed this lot out.

So.....any suggestions or tips on downloading?

Any idea why there are different times on downloading?
:D

Colin,

Download times vary according to the speed of your internet connection. Although you may have, say, a 56K modem, you will find that your actual connection speed varies. If it's anything like mine it could be anything from 28,000 to 44,000 kps, depending on the time of day/amount of traffic on your ISP etc.

Obviously, if you've got a broadband, ISDN or cable modem connection your connection speeds will be faster.

One good way to combat the annoying problem of interrupted downloads is to get hold of a utility like GoZilla. This enables you to resume interrupted downloads from where you left off.

Gozilla can be downloaded free from www.downloadgozilla.com. It takes about 10-15 minutes to download on a normal 56K modem. Also have a look at www.zdnet.com for other useful utilities.

Cheers

Lord Summerisle

Lord Summerisle,
Gotcha on the download time, that makes sense. I have a 56k and the average kps is 49000, did I actually just say all that?
I also have gozilla which for some reason kicks in and sometimes dosen't. I'm going to try it one more time tonight.
Thanks
Colin:)
