With all the good releases on DVD coming out, what would be your next picks? I know I'd want to get the ones where there's too much non-Lee time to fast forward through on VHS, such as "Crimson Pirate," as well as totally great films such as "House of the Long Shadows."
What's your list, from 1 - whatever?

Without a doubt, Hammer's The Hound of the Baskervilles tops my list. Followed by Feast at Midnight and then Treasure Island. My reason for the first is obvious to anyone that knows me, I'm a Sherlock Holmes enthusiast so enough said. The second however, contains, what is in my opinion, one of Mr. Lee's most charming performances, and is a wonderful film altogether. The third, is simply a joy to watch, particularly for Mr. Lee's incredible characterization of Blind Pew, as well as a sterling piece of work by Oliver Reed as Billy Bones. Bring 'em on!
Oops! Nearly forgot Billy Wilder's The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, preferably as a fully restored director's cut (once again, my reasoning should be obvious).

Well first I must agree with Charles' list as I would eagerly snatch up all of those titles. I would also add in no particular order: JINNAH, PIRATES OF BLOOD RIVER, DEVILSHIP PIRATES, PURSUIT OF THE GRAFF SPEE, All the Fu MANCHU FLICKS, TERROR OF THE TONGS, THE SALAMANDER and (I know this will get me in trouble) All the Hammer DRACULAS, CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, SHE, GORGON, ARABIAN ADVENTURE, HOUSE OF THE LONG SHADOWS.
Oh hell, I might as well just put up the IMDB list and subtract the ones already released or pending release. As you can see, I'm very picky.:1devil:

Joe! You have written a list of the films that many of us want on DVD.
Many of the Hammer films are out on DVD but JINNAH is definatly something that should be released on DVD/VHS. Maybe these films already are out on DVD??? Keep looking. Joe! I don't want to slap you on the fingers but you have misspelt one of the titles in your post.
It's THE SALAMANDER.

The second would be Safari 3000, he was just too funny as Lorenzo Borgia. And talking about funny stuff....I would like to see Dracula & Son on DVD.
Maybe I´m wrong, but as far as I can see, this movie isn´t available at all (and it doesn´t matter in which language). Not on DVD and not on VHS, if anybody can convince me from the opposite, then I would be really happy.

I found "Dracula and Son" on VHS, Steffi -- used, but with its original box. Watch Skinnyguy.com or eBay and it will turn up. It is definitely worth looking for. He's such a dear in it.:)

Thank you very much, Rebecca ! These are really great news...and so quick. You cannot imagine, since how long I was looking for this particular Movie. I only watched it twice in my life on TV , when I was a little child. And since then , never again !
So, thank you once again !!!
Steffi :pimp:

You guys have pretty much put everything that i would include on my dream list of up-coming DVD's, but another one i would love to see is Freddy Francis's "The creeping flesh", wich is another great pairing of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing together.
As for Dracula and son (Dracula pere et fils), I know that you are probably referring to the english "Dubbed" version, but from the point of view of a french speaking guy like me,the french version of that film is a pure delight.
Of course mr. Lee filmed his part in french, and there are some hilarious lines spoken by him in this film, as well as from the other actor Bernard Menez.
Some of the "punch" of those lines is lost in the translation unfortunately.
It is indeed a very entertaining film.

Dvd's i would like to see are allready mentioned.
Jinnah, Feast At Midnight, other Hammer titles..
So i would like to add Gremlins II. :D
I've never seen the English version of Dracula Pere et Fils.
But i have an old vhs rental version in the French language (with Dutch subtitles, so i could follow the story).
If they will release this movie on dvd i would definitely prefer to have this one in the French language.
Mr Lee parlez Francais ces't tres bon. :)
Sylvain, you can correct my French. ;)

I would love to see:
HOUSE OF THE LONG SHADOWS, A FEAST AT MIDNIGHT, DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE, and HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. They would be wonderful with a commentary!

I would like to see those films all of you have mentioned too but most of all I would want to see , House of the Long Shadows , A Feast at Midnight , Crimson Pirate and all of the other hard movies to get like The Devilship Pirates , Pirates Of Blood River , Purtsuit of the Graff Spee , that I didn't know that he was in , but mostly it's Jinnah for me too , I just hope that if they do put Jinnah on DVD that Mr. Lee will live long enough to do the Commentary of the film like Ben Kingsley did on the Gandhi DVD , which I hope with all of my heart that he would .
Best Regards ,
Amy Maloney
