I have an other question this time regarding to Mr. Lee involvement in the classic war epic "The Longest Day(1962).On the "Internet Movie Database" (imdb.com)you can see that he had "several uncredited bits". Is it true ? And if so, what parts did he play and did he share the screen with some of the stars of this film
(Richard Burton,Sean Connery,Henry Fonda,Robert Mitchum,John Wayne)?
Thanks for answering.

Sorry to say, but Mr. Lee has himself stated that he did not appear in The Longest Day. The IMDB is wrong on this one.

Cheers,

Shogun warrior is on tonight, very late though! starring David Essex and Christopher Lee (Strange mix)

An tales from the crypt (The film) is on tomorow staring Peter Cushion (Was CL also in that?, I thought he was for some reason)

These films are on in England.

Christina Lee is on a distinguished road
You beat me to the posting! It was Peter Cushing who was in it and not my father. I am looking forward to it, that is if I manage to keep awake that late.

Yeah, I think the myth about Mr. Lee doing some stunt work on Longest Day goes back to the days of the Dracula Lives comic books (anyone remember those--or am I really showing my age...?) My dad used to pick these up for me at half price, with the covers half torn. I think I still might have one or two in my file cabinets...

Anyway, one of the DL comic books did a piece on him and listed that. But Mr. Lee does not mention it himself in his autobiography.

(I think he would have been superb, though, for example, playing one of the British paratroopers capturing the bridge--or one of the intelligence officers sweating out the attack back in London.

Best,

John F

John, you are not alone in remebering the old Dracula Lives comic book. The large format black and white mags were a great mix of comic book blended with cinema related articles and features. Your post reminded me that I had a couple issues floating around here somewhere, so I dug them out. Not the one with Mr. Lee's bio, which I can distinctly remember having at one time, but there was one with a review of Dracula Has Risen From the Grave and some great Neal Adams art (Oops my comicbook fanboy roots are showing :nerd: ) in another. Hard to believe it was 1973-4 when these first turned up, not to mention the 75 cent cover price.

Thanks for the trip down comicbook memory lane.
