I feel so lucky to found this place I can't even express it to you all.
For much of my working life I was employed at two beautiful grand old movie theatres that showed only foriegn, art, and classic cinema. That is how I discovered the work of Mr. Lee. It seems to me, at least in this part of the world, that those of us drawn to work in these types of theatres all do it out of the love of cinema, (it's definately not for the pay!). My friends at work and I would often get together after hours in the theatre to watch the films or trailers that were stored in the catacombs beneath the auditoriums and either forgotten or never shown the public because newer versions would be released, so I've been really lucky to have seen some great original trailers for Christopher Lee films like The Magic Christian and The Wickerman on the big screen where they belong.
His Hammer films were what really made me became more and more interested in his work and start to seek out as much information as I could find on this remarkable talent. After reading his autobiography last summer I became completely entralled by the search for his films that I had yet to discover and his suberb writing skills as well. I am amazed that with such talent as a storyteller he hasn't written more. Although I know his acting probably keeps him too busy.
I'm lucky to have some good friends who feel as impassioned as I do about film, but it is always a pleasure to find more people who are well informed and who I can have intelligent discussions with.
Thanks for having me here.
