Oliver Reed has long been one of my favorite British actors. With as diverse a career as CL's I have yet to see a performance by him that I found lacking. You know, kinda like CL.
The following bio-info is from the IMDB.

Robert Oliver Reed
Date of birth (location)
13 February 1938,
Wimbledon, London, England, UK
Date of death (details)
2 May 1999,
Valletta, Malta. (heart attack)
Trivia:
Belonged to the same dental practice as Christopher Lee.
Needed 36 stitches to cuts on his face after a bar fight in 1963.
Had two brothers. David who became his business manager and Simon who became his press agent.
Actor nephew of the film director Carol Reed.
Son, with Kate Burn, Mark Reed.
Daughter, with Jacquie Daryl, Sarah Reed.
Reed told the Los Angeles Times in 1971 that he had to drink a whole bottle of vodka before shooting his nude wrestling scene with Alan Bates in "Women in Love." Reed claimed "He didn't mind exposing himself in a bedroom or a urinal, but he had to get drunk before he could get in front of the camera, " Reed often resented interviewers asking about his drinking feats (like downing 106 pints of beer in 24 hours) instead of his current film.
He died of a heart attack in a bar after downing three bottles of rum and winning five sailors in arm-wrestling.
Oliver Reed was severly injured and almost died durring the filming of The Three Musketeers, when he was stabbed in the throat durring the wind mill duel scene.
It took Director Ridley Scott 3,000,000 dollars to recreate Oliver's face after he dies during the filming of Gladiator (2000)
Grandson of the actor-manager Herbert Beerbohm Tree.
His first job (at the age of 17) was as a bouncer at a Soho night-club.
Personal quotes
"You meet a better class of people in pubs."
"I do not live in the world of sobriety."
"My only regret is that I didn't drink every pub dry and sleep with every woman on the planet."

LOL...sorry, but I just couldn't let this pass without comment. Obviously the Rum was what sunk the battleship, but I just can't help wondering if "winning five sailors" wasn't also a contributing factor in his death. I mean, think about it, what the hell would Oliver Reed need five sailors for? :erm:

I sincerely hope that the individual that posted that to the IMDB intended to say "beating five sailors"...LOL
