I'm not going to review the movie itself just the DVD.
Once again Anchor Bay has proven why they are rapidly becoming the best DVD marketers in the business. The print quality is excellent. Deep vibrant colors and crystal clear picture. The sound mix is Dolby Digital 2.0 and has all the clarity and sonics of a movie made in the last five years. Letterboxed at 1.85:1 ratio and mastered for 16:9 TVs this is one awesome disc. The only downer is the lack of extras. Only a trailer is included.
The first time I saw this movie on VHS I was unimpressed.  Between the faded color, cropped picture and warbly sound I found it hard to stay interested. Needless to say this DVD as altered my opinion greatly.
If you haven't yet seen this film, buy it. If you have the VHS, throw it away and buy the DVD!

Well, since you asked, I found the film absolutely charming. Yet another  brilliant preformance from CL. The child actors were extremely talented for kids of that age.
I've always had a hard time reviewing a film aimed at an audience younger than myself (shut-up J,C,A, and V)!

I agree with joe, a very charming and lovely little film it is.
I watched it with my daughter (soon to be 6 years old), and she liked it so much that i was already treated to a second viewing .
Mr. Lee is impressive as always even if i had the impression at first that he would have been on screen for a longer period of time.
My daughter loves birds very much (that`s why i use the bird for my icon), and she was fascinated by the fact that the birds help the kid to get his sword again .
I recommand the film to everyone.

Sylvain
