I'm really glad for you, Wendy -- it's a good book.
I'm just considering banging my head against a wall for letting two things slip by on eBay because I didn't set my alarm and got absorbed in working on something. Both were Christopher Lee items the sellers didn't know how to promote *as* Christopher Lee items. The PC game "Ghosts" (with Christopher Lee) went for
ten cents plus $4 shipping. See it
here if you can bear it.
Also, a lot of fifteen factory-made VHS tapes that included "The House That Dripped Blood" (!!!) went for $20.49 plus $10 shipping. The other films were: "Tales from the Crypt," "South Park" 3, 4, 8, and 9; "White Zombie" with Bela Lugosi, "The Raven" and "The Black Cat" with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi (They didn't even mention Peter Lorre!), "The Fly" with Vincent Price, "Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954), "The Terror" with Boris Karloff, "Night of the Living Dead" (1970), "Primal Fear," "Independence Day," and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" with Charles Laughton.
See it
here if you can stand it.
I'd been waiting for a copy of "House That Dripped Blood" I could afford, and that price would have qualified, given how difficult it is to find, even without the other classics. This person didn't put "Christopher Lee" in the title, and didn't even mention Peter Lorre in the description, so his auction didn't see much action. I had written him to make sure these were factory tapes, too. Many people selling lots this size have home-made copies, which probably deflected even more would-be bidders.
I'm really glad you tracked down your prize and got it!
