I don`t know if this has been said before in other threads, I`ve had a look but couldn`t find any, if it has please ignore this thread , but, If someone made a film or serialised Mr. Lee`s life, which would be an epic of a production, who could possibly take on the role as CL? I for one cannot think of anyone who even resembles him, he is unique.

Nicholas Cage. I have looked at Cage many times with his widow's peak hair and the eyes...and see Christopher when he was much younger. I think with some slight make-up enhancement he'd do a good biopic on Christopher. Just IMHO.

I agree, Pam! I mentioned the resemblance in another thread. An e-pal from Italy told me that Cage is a cousin to Frances Ford Coppolla. Any Lee genealogy experts out there?

I think that the life of Christopher Lee (to date that is) would be better done as a documentary, best narrated by Mr. Lee himself. That would be a worthy project. Also I don't know of anyone out there today who is a good enough actor to simulate Mr. Lee for a biopic. In my opinion, the actor's appearance is the very least of the challenge in trying to recreate Mr. Lee.

Nicolas Cage all the way. Second choice, Ralph Fiennes. But who would play Peter Cushing? My choice goes for Hugh Grant -- with lots of make up.

Nicolas Cage may work on a purely appearance based level, but I have a hard time imagining him actually speaking in the role of Mr. Lee. I noticed someone recently in a film that I thought would be perfect...but of course, I can't recall who it was or even the film that I was viewing. Typical.
As to Peter Cushing, depending on the age required, I'd say Terence Stamp would be quite effective.

I thought of Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Grant for a couple of reasons. Fiennes, I think cold very well capture Christopher Lee's bearing and dignity. Grant seems to me just right to portray Peter Cushing's boyish, gentle, and very 'English' nature. Of course, an added plus is that both actors are roughly the same age. Terence Stamp physically resembles Mr. Cushing in his later years. . . but I can't see his conveying Cushing's innocent kindness.

Oops! An after thought: I can easily imagine hearing Hugh Grant speaking Mr. Cushing's habitual "My dear fellow" with all the innocence and sincerity of the original. I try to hear Terence Stamp saying the same phrase and I hear an underlying, sarcastic sneer. Maybe I'm 'typecasting' Mr. Stamp. . . but. . . there you have it.

Somehow I come to think of John Cleese, really don't know why. Perhaps it's because he's tall like Mr. Lee, or something

Come on you guys! Do you REALLY want to see this kind of a TV Movie-type biopic about Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing? (These guys are not the Jacksons, ya know?)

I think that Nicholas Cage can be very intense! How do you know he can't recapture the Dracula stare? His eyes are part of what I thought of first, in capturing the role. He's very capable!

Typecast Terence Stamp? Too funny.
This is the man who first made his mark as Billy Budd in the film of the same name and over the years has appeared in a variety of off-beat and interesting roles. Amongst his better known film appearances we have Superman II, The Company of Wolves, Wall Street, Young Guns, The Limey, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and of course, his unforgettable appearance in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Somehow, I think typecasting for Stamp isn't much of a problem. As an older Peter Cushing, I can't think of anyone better!

I wonder who Mr. Lee would cast, can anyone ask? That would be interesting.
Behind every successful man is a great woman: who to cast as Gitte? Julianne Moore? (currently appearing with Anthony Hopkins in Hannibal) I'm drawing a blank ...
