It's not the name of a park in Barcelona, Mr Lee was wrong.

The Umbracle is a structure built out of brick and wood. Its naves, supported by fine iron columns, are full of plants, mostly tropical, which normally grow in the shade of great forests. Inside are some benches wehere visitors can sit down and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The Umbracle was built for the Universal Exhibition of 1888, it is located in the Parc de la Ciutadella in Barcelona.

Saying this, the reason he is wrong is because most of the Barcelona citizens are too, including Portabella. Was designed by Josep Fontserè in 1883

This is how it looks like, located in Valencia. I guess they liked the name.

I haven't seen the film or any of Portabella's films for that matter. He is a disciple of Bunuel, I've seen a couple and didn't understand them. Going to the other title, "Vampir-Cuadecuc", Cua-de-cuc means "Tale of a worm". Strange he?

Carmen and Greg is an unknown quantity at this point
Juan:

Can you elaorate a little on why this title was chosen for a film about Mr Lee's life?

Is it because that's where it was filmed? I'm still unclear on this one.

Thanks,

Carmen

Carmen and Greg.

I know nothing about this film, haven't seen it yet. Portabella is not really a filmaker, he is an artist. It was filmed at El Umbracle. I think I know what to expect, if you ever seen Bunuel you know what I mean. Only they understand their own films, no one else. Poratabella, came from a very wealthy familly and not fame nor money were his intentions when filming. Think of Jesus Franco and imagine the total opposite.

Mr Lee promised to lend me some secret footage he done with Portabella, all things good we shall publish it on the website.
