Hi Jacob: That's not surprising. I mean, I've been a Lee fan for years, but I hadn't really noticed him in too much until Sleepy Hollow. I was very pleasantly surprised then--I thought it was cool the way they shot his part as judge, with the angel's wings montaged behind his shoulders. I'm really glad to see him in so many big projects. Dracula (as well as any leading role) is demanding in terms of physical strength and presence, but these roles of Marius or Enkil would not be demanding; much of the activity they do could be digitally enhanced, and probably would have to be for Enkil, who moves faster than the eye can see. The Enkil part would be a small part, and if Lee were to play the role, he'd have to do very little. The idea is that Enkil kind of combines the role of the vampire and the mummy, and explains the legends of both vampires and mummies. Anne Rice's narrator, Marius, a Roman vampire, explains how he became the keeper of "The Ones Who Must Be Kept," Enkil and Akasha, the first vampires, who are the real legends behind the Osirus and Isis myths. They very rarely move, except when they get riled up, then...look out! LeStat stirs them up. Anyway, while it would be cool to see Lee do it, I can understand why he wouldn't want to play any more vampires. Bela Lugosi suffered tremendously from his typecasting, and I like to see Lee playing roles other than the heavy. He's just so darned good at it! I'm looking forward to LOTR, too, and I know Lee will be perfect in the part of Saruman!
I can hardly wait!:D
