We are still updating Mr. Lee's site until it's as complete in information as it can be and make place for more features. From now, we will be following an agenda. These is the breakdown of what's new and what's coming over the next few weeks
Music: Up again and as far as I can tell, complete.
Books: Up again but some more research needed.
Multimedia: Up and working.
Filmography Up again but only 50% complete. Each tile will link to its own page with further information where possible. To include trailers were available and links. The parts where it says extras is only there for me as a reference and will be taken out when complete.
The list of credits is not yet complete, we think it will be closer to 300. We are using different references to come out with all the credits. The main source the list from Mr. Lee's agent which is backed up with the information on Jonathan Rigby's book and the IMDB as well as photocopies from documents belonging to the British library.
Should you see any mistakes or anything missing, please let me know.
Merchandise store: It's finished but not up until the points system is in place. Should be open by the 20th of November or sooner. The idea is that active members get discounts and can claim some free merchandise after reaching so many points. The rest, is full prices I'm afraid. Mr. Lee's charities need looking after.
Points system: We are writing a FAQ sections which will explain how this will work. Points will compute towards entry to CLASS and all past contributions will be taken into consideration.
CLASS: Stands for Christopher Lee Appreciation Society. It will be formed by a group of serious and enthusiastic fans which will form the basis of research teams in the life and works of Mr. Lee. Entry will be solely on the basis of the contribution of time and material shared with this website over the time and will be divided into specialist areas. Candidates will be required to complete a given project upon qualifying or work in a team project. A FAQ section is being prepared for this. Members of this group will receive their own ID card upon qualifying and will participate in scheduled online discussions with Mr. Lee for research purposes which he will personally oversee, correct and approve. Further rewards are planned like the distribution of a free internal magazine. Note that this will not be a fan club and homework is required before discussions take place. It will cover ALL of Mr. Lee's work and not personal favorites although specialties will be given on a first come first served basis. The purpose of this group is to create the single and most complete source of information available on Mr. Lee anywhere.
Forums and foreign websites: A Portuguese website is being worked on with the collaboration of The Brazilian Tolkien Society. The French website will be rescued with the help of French volunteers. We will be writing letters to French fans all over the world to seek help as our previous attempt failed due to lack of continuous updates. All active translators and editors will form part of CLASS.
The Films and DVD reviews forums will be merged into the general discussion and instead, the review database at the site will be used for this purpose. Existing reviews, with the help of their authors will be moved before the merged takes place. The DVD reviews from the old site will also be moved there.
Website forums. Will be replaced by the FAQ and will merge into the general discussion forums.
If anyone has any suggestion, please talk now before I'm half way trough things.
Questions to Mr. Lee: As much as we would love to allow each one of you to ask a question every month, it's impossible. Restrictions will be in place every time to restrict the number of questions and for the next round they will change so that a manageable size is obtained. Those who asked this month, will have to skip it this time. We know that the number of members with less than 50 posts is very low, but we don't mind if there are less number of questions asked for the simple reason that Mr. Lee's time can be utilized for other things. Eventually, CLASS will take care of this problem as the questions he answers will be relevant to the projects that are being worked on. There are many questions that need answering and many topics that need talking about.
Competitions: The short film script competition, as most of you know, has started. From what Joe Skinnell has told me, some of you have questions. What do you think the forums are for? Ask away. We did not want to use all our resources in organizing something that should be fairly easy and quick to get done.
I know that the explanation may not be so clear for some of you, nevertheless the only four scripts submitted so far are easily accomplished and followed all the guidelines. We just need one good script and we're off. Those of you with imagination, have the unique opportunity of writing something that your hero will direct in and act for you. Not just for the writer but for all the fans. It will be the first time in history that any actor has stared and directed a film written by his fans and CO-stared by fans. Who knows, the next Anthony Shaffer or Christopher Lee gets discovered here. You won't get a better chance than this, that's for sure. You still have until the 1st of December to submit your scripts.
This is a good follow up to the very successful writers competition in which Steffi is the first ever fan to have written something for Mr. Lee.
There are four more competitions going up as soon as I get time to do them.
1. Treasure Hunt: The purpose of this game will be to find your prize by following clues around Mr. Lee's site. The prizes are two official Saruman autographs, for the fastest finishers.
2. Crossword: You win by completing a tough on-line crossword which will test your knowledge to the full and may even drive you nuts. The first person to complete it automatically wins a T-shirt.
3. Writers Competition II - Ghost Stories: Will consist of writing an original ghost story.. Then all members will vote for the one they think is the best without voting for themselves, like the last time. There were some notable exceptions which include the winner who voted for someone else. The price is Mr. Lee reading the story which will be filmed in DVD. You'll get to keep the signed DVD.
4. Flash Quiz: This will test your knowledge without giving you time to read the answers from books. Think live competition but forget IMDB and your collection of books because time runs out on you and you only get one chance. The prize will be No 500 of a limited edition, non personalized A4 autograph picture with certificate of authenticity and ownership. This is a true collectors item due to the nature of the photograph in question.
Lastly.
Some of the prizes from the last competition were already sent out. Rebecca received her T-shirt and mug and Charles should be getting his when the postal service finds Canada. The autopics and all certificates will follow in less than 2 weeks time. The certificates had to be printed again due to a mistake and I need to get a chance to see Mr. Lee and get them signed.
Steffi's CD is coming along nicely. We are hoping to include also a video clip introduction to the story by Mr. Lee which still needs to be filmed. The cover of the CD has been printed and needs to be autographed. Oscar's theme is now done and has been mixed into a second version of the story. Steffi needs to bear with us because we want to make this CD as special for her as possible and we are always restricted by time, but will be there before Christmas. Perhaps she should open it on Christmas day.
I also believe that Ms Rita Ryan has a prize waiting for her if she cares to contact me. That was from a quiz she won a long time ago and these days I no longer go to Paltalk other that that, she is no were to be seen and I haven't got her address.
