Being born in NY would definitely make Mr. Carradine an American. What it wouldn't make him is an "Ah-MAY-er-can." as Lyndon Johnson used to say.
Besides, what's a "horror movie actor?" An actor who stars only in horror movies? I don't think there is such a thing. If you mean an actor who has starred in horror movies, then I can name quite a few fine contemporary (leaving aside the classics) American actors who have starred in horror movies.
Chris Sarandon comes to mind, as does Robert DiNiro, Al Pacino, Ellen Burstyn, Lance Hendrickson, Harry Dean Stanton, Jody Foster, Martin Landau, and Jack Palance, to name just a few off the top of my head. Actually, the list is rather endless. But then again, as Charles said, is this really the proper forum?
